About Nettle
Nettle 'urtica dioica' has long been prized for medicinal and culinary use. The organic nettles used in Pukka's 'Cleanse' tea are wild harvested from the forests and fields of Bulgaria. As nettle grows all the year around, harvest takes place 3 times a year; May, July and September. Nettle fibres have been used since at least the Bronze Age for making clothing and cloth. A Hans Christian Anderson fairy story tells of a girl who had to weave 11 nettle shirts to break a spell that had turned her brothers into swans.
